Pickup Truck and Horse Heads

Kind of content with this one.  Harris's rusted out Ford and the shopping cart are nice, but the horse heads on the chain link fence make it for me.  I've lived across the street for over three years, and never noticed them before.

Free Cable

I've never stayed there.

Still Christmasing

I have nothing against Christmas Teddy Bears.

Alarm clock on a pile of crap

Okay, 12mm on a full frame is pretty god damn wide.  Trying to keep gear geeking aside, but this camera is pretty sweet.

Portrait of Cody

I am not dead, just very lazy.  The new Apple RAW compatibility update means I can just process and edit everything in Aperture again, loosing my "I'm to lazy to process these with Canon software" excuse.
Fortunately, this came before New Years so that I can skate by with adamantly maintaining that going back to my regular shooting and posting routine is not a Resolution.
Fortunately, in the last month and a half, I have not matured either artistically or technically as evidenced by this picture of Cody at his home in Round Rock.  So we can pick up where we left off as if uninterrupted.

Christian on a California highway

Rephotograph of a botched print out (composite document printer settings instead of photo.)  The original was quite grainy and pushed as it was.

New roommate

He's very cute, I just don't think he realizes he's not supposed to be there.

Another Tree

Good light the past few days.  I haven't done anything with it, but it's there.

iTunes through a Dos Equis pint glass

Let's call this a day off.  I'll be productive tomorrow.

Leaves on the grill

I voted electronically.  The machine assured me that when I saw a waving American flag, it meant that my vote had been cast.

The woman in line in front of me had Dementia.

Fingers crossed.

Moon over Merrie Lynn Avenue

Still sorting the carry around camera details.  The belt pouch I got needs some sewing.  Here is some blurry handheld looking down the street.

Close Up of the patio light

My Canon G9 died, and my new G10 doesn't yet have native RAW support in Aperture.  There are ways around this, but none that can compete with my laziness.  But anyway, last minute snapshot in the back yard.

Livid and here is the backyard

Angry and profoundly frustrated.  And now I've got a few mosquito bites to distract from the blooming poison ivy.

Copper Wall

It's a shiny wall.

Wedding in Welcome, TX

I still hate shooting weddings, but Wayne and Maddy are good people.  Or at least a good guy and a good dog.  www.dearcharliphotography.com

Accidental Picture of Pavement

I was trying to send somebody a text message.

Shoelace Jesus Fish

My shoelace peeking under the door on the carpet.  I mean, wow.  Must be miraculous.  What are the odds a casually discarded shoelace would end up in that position?  S'all mystic and shit.

Another Screen Grab with bonus Self Portrait

Taken from Goodbye Dragon Inn with a bit of reflection in the glass.  I guess this is what I was going for.  I dunno.  Little experiment concluded.

Animorphology Pickups

Got back from North Carolina yesterday.  Today was the last day of shooting Animorphology.  Maybe the last day.

Pirating a movie

On 38th Street under the interstate just after midnight.

The last of this crap

A comment by Mike made me realize that pictures of sunsets are just as bad as macro shots of flowers, pictures of cats, and pictures of one's own children.  Fine for a shoebox, but really no one else in the world cares or needs to see your crapy picture.  In this case, my crapy picture.  I am resolving not to waste the internet with anymore of this shit.

Roots under the 31st Street Pedestrian Bridge

The trash being there doesn't bother me, it is just that it isn't artistically arranged.  I also almost had a great shot on the other side of the bridge of the water, the rocks, and the smashed toilet, but the toilet was slightly too smashed and at an odd angle so as not to be recognizable.  If I were a braver photographer, I would go back and throw in a fresh toilet so as to have the image.

Joe at the Gingerman

It was a Friday so there was beer to be consumed.

Another bloody sunset

I'm in a fucking rut.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Blue sunset snap

Running again.  The old familiar drive down to the MoPac Town Lake Bridge.  iPhone has kinda sexy little flares when you really dig in.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

Bad lighting

Blah, I fucked up the lighting of this whole scene.

Graves and the locksmith

The Texas State Mental Hospital Cemetery.  This is through a chain link fence, I don't think there is any entrance that they don't keep locked.  Taken from the parking lot at Epoch.

Trees and Addictions

A quickie of the trees in the yard through the broken grate that is supposed to be covering the gutter.  The frustration with trying to get it uploaded was a nice diversion from the alcohol and Spore that have consumed the last two days of my life.

Excuses and Animorphology

I was trapped and disheartened in Round Rock for a week then out to Burning Man and back which burned two and then in San Antonio for Rob's short this weekend.

So this thing hasn't completely fizzled through laziness.  Well some of it was laziness and some of it was legitimate out of contact with the space waves that make this internet thing go.

Anyway, commencing normal activities

A still from the San Pedro Playhouse shoot of Animorphism or Animorphology or Anthropomorphism or whatever it's called.  Adam and Darren cleanup quite respectably.

Mercury vapor light and the power lines

Stormy night coming in the alley behind Flightpath.  And the light really is that green.

Animorphism Auditions

Heather auditioning for the part of Emily.  Let's see if she can keep the streak alive of Rob casting Christian's ex-girlfriends in his short films.

The back yard

That is certainly rather boring.

Some sort of muppet?

Pint glass and mug on the coffee table with a hard side light wide open and blurry and out of focus through a wine bottle.

I'm angry so here's a pot

God damn where's the fucking allen wrench!  Fuck it, I'll just go outside with the camera.

Heater above the toilet

This is me procrastinating.

Saturday, August 2, 2008

Pirate Ship and other things on the bookcase

The pirate ship thing I pilfered from Christopher and Heather's move a few years back.  Also, that's Bender peering over the railing.  It's dusty up there, and I didn't feel like moving anything.

Oakwood Cemetery again

About a dozen yards away from the other shot.  Close the aperture and twirl.

Oakwood Cemetery

A tree and headstone.

The patio at Flightpath Coffeehouse.

Rob in the seats at the San Pedro Playhouse

Rob makes an adequate stand-in for Emily, the as yet uncast lead female role in his as yet unproduced short film, Anthropomorphism.

Naiti and Andrew in the Observatory

The DP and an all around art department guy looking unimpressed.  I cropped out what they are unimpressed by.  It wasn't very impressive.  Eliza shot sparks and Greg and I flickered circuit boards instead.
